Gordon Keith’s “Fake Jerry” Headed to Adult Swim in “Keeping Up With The Joneses”

Longtime listeners of Dallas sports talk radio station The Ticket (KTCK-AM 1310) are well-acquainted with Gordon Keith’s popular “Fake Jerry” impression of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. Now, that iconic caricature is set to reach a national audience, as Keith has announced he will voice Jerry Jones in a new Adult Swim animated series titled Keeping Up With The Joneses.

Keith revealed the news on “The Musers: The Podcast,” confirming that he was specifically chosen for the role. The half-hour series, created by writers from shows like Robot Chicken and Mike Tyson Mysteries, will center on the fictional Newberry family as they attempt to “keep up” with their wealthy Dallas neighbors โ€“ the Cowboys-owning Jones family.

According to Keith, he initially ignored emails from Warner Bros. casting, thinking they were spam, until someone from The Ticket received a direct call asking them to relay the message. Despite admitting he was “pretty intimidated” by the prospect of acting on a national show, especially using a voice he describes as not truly sounding like Jerry Jones but rather a “cartoony” caricature, Keith’s audition proved successful.

Keith has already recorded all his voice parts for the show, though a specific release date has not yet been announced. The producers reportedly opted for Keith’s more exaggerated, recognizable “Fake Jerry” voice over a more realistic impersonation, cementing his comedic take on the Cowboys owner as “canon” for the animated series. The show is expected to air on Adult Swim next year.
