English Dub Review: Witch Watch “Dogs and Raindrops, Part 2”

Nico, Kanshi, Nemu, and Morihito combat the Warlock’s forces and Keigo’s wolf form.
OUR TAKE
And that’s a wrap on this two parter, resolving pretty much everything from last week and even adding Keigo as a new member of the Morihito household. As a resolution to the previous episode, it actually did an above average job, not just by providing a satisfying conclusion to the immediate threat, but also by making sure everyone in the principal cast had some way to be involved and feel like they’ve grown as people over this first half of the series, including by making use of spells that previously seemed minor or innocuous but ended up being a major factor in their victory. Nico and Kanshi, despite being more of the comedic relief of their group, are pretty clever in how they get around the horde of mind controlled goons and get them to turn on each other. It’s not the most flashy way for them to overcome that but it’s a sign that they’re learning. They also eventually capture the warlock, called The Enchanter, so points to them for that! As for Morihito’s fight against Keigo AKA Wolf, it’s not exactly a fight for the ages, but it’s the most tense this show has ever gotten so hey, I’m going to call that a win for this show.
In the aftermath, we learn that this Enchanter was actually sent by another, more powerful Warlock to capture Nico, but she’s killed before she can explain anything else. I guess that makes sense, seeing as we are only halfway through this season (less than halfway if you go by the stated episode count but who knows how accurate THAT is) so the main threat won’t be showing up for quite some time. And as mentioned, Keigo is now going to be living with the group. Apparently he got into his shady business because his mom was sick, but now she’s healthy enough to take a job overseas, so now he needs a place to stay. So, now he’ll be more involved with the cast, and he didn’t really do anything that bad so I guess it’s easy to let that happen. Again, I’m not really big on feeling about his character one way or the other, but I’m open to see if that will change now that he’s hanging around the house. I don’t really know what they’ll do with that other personality though, but all I hope is that it will at least be funny.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
