English Dub Review: The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows “Choosing Who Lives”
Overview:
Zenos learns the truth behind Becker’s investigation and faces the question: Are lives equal in value?
Our Take:
This was a pretty good show, but the last episode was both awesome and terrible. It wasn’t surprising that Becker had a reason for doing what he did. He “poisoned” everyone at the party, and I put that in quotations because, to the best of his knowledge, he gave people a drug that would paralyze them temporarily, not kill them. But after drinking the poison himself, he realized it was fatal without an antidote. Becker aimed to expose Goldran for sacrificing his fiancée to save a noble to rise in his career. Becker did a bad thing, but he wasn’t THE bad guy, so I was wrong in that regard.
My biggest frustration with the episode was the ending. This is the finale for the season, and I don’t think we are getting a second season. This is nothing new in the anime world, but I hate when shows end like this one does, specifically. The end credits started rolling while Zenos returns home, but we also get to see a new character who looks important. Not only that, but a character that is somehow significant to Zenos knocks on the door of his clinic, and we never get to see her face. I hate when an anime teases a second season that we will probably never get.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
