English Dub Review: Flower and Asura “Dreams and a Sleepover”
Overview:
Hana’s enthusiasm deflates as Mr. Kichijoji readies the club for an upcoming competition. Why must she want to win? Why can’t she enjoy doing what she loves?
Our Take:
The HiDive technical issues continue today. Today’s episode of Flower and Asura wasn’t uploaded at the normal time, but we eventually got it. It was a hard watch with the Japanese subtitles being on the screen. It’s hard not to read them, and when they’re slightly different from what you’re hearing, it can be jarring. It doesn’t help that in the instances where there was on-screen text being translated as well, it made it so that almost the whole screen was taken up with text.
I’m getting a little more interested in the story of this show now that we are getting some character development and conflict. I don’t know how a broadcasting club competition would work, but it sounds like we’re going to see one. Not only that, but Hana tries to say that she doesn’t care about winning or losing; she likes recitations for fun. But when she hears Shura Saionji’s recitation it’s easy to see she was fired up.
I might be wrong about this being a yuri show because as of now it seems like Hana and Mizuki are just friends. That can of course change but I’m becoming optimistic with the route this show is going. Let’s hope that HiDive can get it together next week.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
