Our Take:
It’s been a long, excruciating month since the “Evil Eye” compilation film abruptly concluded with an erupting volcano, but we finally made it.  After being shrouded in questions involving a volcano that’s about to destroy the resort town, this week’s episode arrives to give us the answers we seek.  Of course, given the show’s bizarre antics tone, they’re far from surprising.  For starters, the Kito family intends to sacrifice people to the Death Worm to prevent the volcano from destroying the town, as foretold in the legend.  However, that hasn’t stopped Momo from challenging that tale by utilizing the worm’s body as a hose to dose the volcano’s magma.  Of course, the formidable Evil Eye still stands in the way between victory and defeat, resulting in her joining forces with Naki and plenty of familiar faces, like the shrine priest, who happens to be Seiko’s student, Peeny-Weeny, and Taro.
This episode should have been included in the “Evil Eye” film. It would have provided a more fitting finale to the story arc, rather than ending with a cliffhanger to heighten our anticipation. However, that’s not the only reason I believe it should be in the movie.  It’s also due to the battle between Momo and Evil Eye, which would’ve looked absolutely amazing on the big screen, notably in the animation that captured the stylized slow-motion shots, which would’ve put Zack Snyder’s slo-mo vision to shame.  While some character movements appeared a bit floaty, the impact highlighted through Science Saru’s purple palettes was genuinely remarkable.  This is another episode that effectively showcases Science Saru’s impeccable animation display through its stylized action, with a heartwarming reunion between Momo and Okarun sealing the deal.  As for Evil Eye, he’s trapped inside Taro’s body while the volcanic magma has been put out.  All that’s left now is finding a solution to remove the nefarious spirit from Jiji’s body.
