Beloved Cult Classic “Baman Piderman” Returns with New Episodes on YouTube
Fans of the quirky animated web series “Baman Piderman” are in for a treat, as creators Lindsay and Alex Small-Butera, now known as the animation duo Smallbu, are bringing the beloved cult classic back to their own YouTube channel. Starting August 1, 2025, the full existing series, comprising over 25 episodes and more than 90 minutes of content, will be released, including rare special episodes and a previously unreleased “bloopers/art house” episode.
Following this re-release, Smallbu plans to produce the final four to five episodes of “Baman Piderman” to conclude the series as they originally envisioned. The scripts for these concluding episodes have existed for a decade, and Lindsay Small-Butera is currently refining their pacing and structure for a more polished final product. These highly anticipated new episodes are slated for individual release, beginning in late 2025.
“Baman Piderman” first gained a dedicated cult following in the early days of YouTube and Newgrounds, celebrated for its unique hand-drawn style, offbeat humor, and surprising emotional depth. After a period where the rights to the series were tied up in corporate distribution limbo, Smallbu has reacquired the ability to release the series on their own terms through a free licensing agreement with the current rights holders. This move is a testament to their commitment to the series and its loyal fanbase.
Since the initial “Baman Piderman” run, Smallbu has established itself as a successful independent studio, contributing animation to major networks like Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Disney, and Adult Swim, and even earning two Emmy awards. They also ventured into the indie video game world with “Later Alligator” in 2019. The return of “Baman Piderman” to their own platform marks a significant moment for the creators and their dedicated audience, promising a satisfying conclusion to a fan-favorite series.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
