Review: Phineas and Ferb “Summer Block Buster; Cloudy with a Chance of Mom” ; “Submarine Sandwich Submarine; License to Bust”
Even though it’s been ten years since the last time we’ve had new original episodes of Phineas and Ferb, the series continues the show’s fifth season like there was no time gap at all. The new season successfully captures the spirit and charm of the original series, providing more of the creative and humorous adventures that viewers have come to expect.
For those that don’t know, the show centers around two imaginative stepbrothers, Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher, who embark on elaborate and often outlandish projects during their summer vacation. Meanwhile, their older sister Candace is constantly trying (and failing) to bust them to their parents, and their pet platypus Perry leads a double life as a secret agent thwarting the schemes of the bumbling evil scientist Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz.
The new season delivers on what made the original show so enjoyable – imaginative inventions, catchy music, and the hilarious antics of Phineas, Ferb, Candace, Perry, and Dr. Doofenshmirtz. Despite sticking to the established formula, the first two episodes still manage to feel surprisingly fresh, with new inventive storylines that should keep viewers entertained through the show’s fifth season run.
The first two episodes kick off with “Summer Block Buster” really being like a 24-minute special episode whilst the second half-hour of season five is more indicative of the type of stuff we used to get on Disney Channel for years with two quarter-hour episodes with largely the same premise but with different plot points going on.
Phineas and Ferb Season 5 seems to have successfully justified its return, offering fans more of the heartwarming and hilarious family sci-fi hijinks that they adore. If you were a fan of the original series, this new season is likely to rekindle that enjoyment as it seems to make us feel right at home.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
