English Dub Review: To Be Hero X “The Truth Behind Luck”

Overview:

After Cyan’s departure, both the orphanage and its surroundings are plunged into bad luck.

Our Take:

I think I used that phrase correctly. I’ve heard that the term “gas” means something is good, but if I’m wrong, please don’t cancel me because this episode was definitely “gas” if that’s what it means. The Lucky Cyan arc might be the first one that seemingly ends with a happy ending. We also learned what the secret Luo learned was. His parents were on the flight from which Cyan was the sole survivor. It led to him letting despair take over, and we knew that “trust” isn’t the only thing that controls people, but “fear” has a similar impact.

This entire arc has been in traditional animation as opposed to the CGI of the first two arcs. Don’t get me wrong, the CGI for this show is fantastic, but this 2D animation is some of the best I’ve seen recently.

If the next arc is a hero that’s been hinted at sometime during this one, then I hope our next hero is Queen. I loved how she wasn’t intimidated by people blaming her issues on Lucky Cyan and instead embraced her as a friend.
