English Dub Review: To Be Hero X “Road to the Crown”

Overview:

The young Liu Yuwei enters the top 10 rankings as the hero Queen and is on her way to becoming a top hero.

Our Take:

I was hopeful that the new arc would follow Queen, and it seems like that will be the case. One thing I’m not the biggest fan of so far, but say what you will, it’s at least realistic in a sense. That is the fact that two big-name female heroes are (seemingly) being pitted against each other. I would love it if Bowa, the current holder of the title X, and Queen could work together as women in the industry. But on the other hand, it does seem like Queen has a small soft spot for Lucky Cyan and a boy named Little Johnny.

It looked like Bowa and Queen would be facing off for the title of X the next year. But when Queen showed up for her match, it wasn’t Bowa she was facing, but X. I don’t know if this is how he gets the name “X” or what, but Queen lost. It appears that Bowa discovered some incriminating evidence about Queen’s father, but that wasn’t very clear to me because I thought Liu Zheng, the reporter who found Lucky Cyan, was her father. Liu Zheng, being her father, also seemed like common knowledge, but maybe he has a secret we don’t know about yet.
