English Dub Review: Bye Bye, Earth “Nomad: Now Here”

Overview:

Belle says her goodbyes and prepares to finally set out on her journey.

Our Take:

I don’t know whether to say good riddance or goodbye. This show was something else. I can’t recall watching a show and having next to no idea what was happening throughout the entire run of it. The ending of this series answered exactly zero questions that had been raised over the past nineteen episodes. Is Belle a human while everyone else is an alien of sorts? Your guess is as good as mine, and I bet you don’t even have a solid guess about what happened.

The pieces are there for this to be a cool story, but so many things are explained in obtuse ways that make no sense, that it ruins the rest of the story. If the building block of a pyramid is weak, then the whole foundation will crumble. Unfortunately, the foundation for this story was flimsy at best, and when you throw nonsensical phrases at your audience, it doesn’t enhance your story; it makes it worse.

When I do my season review, it will probably be a series review of sorts, and it won’t be kind. The premise of this show is awesome but when nothing makes sense it’s hard to enjoy something. There was a character that Belle interacted with in this episode that I thought was dead. Then they show up like nothing happened. I’m not sure whether the story writers think the audience is extremely intelligent or dumb but either way this story doesn’t work.
