English Dub Review: Black Butler -Emerald Witch Arc- “His Butler, Furious”

After learning everything there is to know about the mystery, Ciel presses Sullivan to come to a decision.

Our Take(Spoilers):

I’m going to be honest I still have no idea where all the technology and stuff comes from. As far as we know this story takes place in the late 1800s but for some reason this one village has technology from the mid 1900s. And they also either made two different gases or changed the name to mustard gas in this episode for some reason. One thing I didn’t see coming was the creepy wart-riddled witch lady being Sullivan’s mother. She was a scientist that fell in love with another scientist and well you know what sometimes happens when two people fall in love. There was an accident and the man was killed and she was deformed but I guess mustard gas doesn’t have any negative side effects when it comes to pregnancy.

Sullivan’s entire life being a lie in order to take advantage of her apparent genius would be one thing. But also crushing her feet so that she fits into this fake witch persona you’ve created? That is beyond messed up and she deserves a whole lot better. On the other had it is always nice to see Sebastian let loose and show everyone why he’s the best butler in the world. By murdering everyone in the room.
