Hulu Drops Official Trailer For Predator: Killer of Killers
The iconic Predator franchise is set to expand its hunting grounds with an exciting new venture: “Predator: Killer of Killers,” an R-rated adult animated action-adventure anthology film. Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, known for revitalizing the series with 2022’s acclaimed Prey, and co-directed by Josh Wassung, this new installment is scheduled to premiere exclusively on Hulu in the U.S. on June 6, 2025, with international audiences able to stream it via Disney+’s Star hub.
“Killer of Killers” marks a significant first for the nearly four-decade-old franchise, serving as its inaugural animated feature. The film is described as an anthology, weaving together three distinct stories across different historical periods. It will introduce audiences to three formidable human warriors from various eras:
- A Viking raider guiding her young son on a brutal quest for revenge.
- A ninja in feudal Japan, turning against his Samurai brother in a fierce battle for succession.
- A WWII pilot who takes to the skies to investigate an otherworldly threat.
The common thread uniting these disparate narratives is, of course, the galaxy’s most dangerous big game hunter. While these human protagonists are “killers in their own right,” they ultimately become “prey for their new opponent — the ultimate killer of killers” – a Predator. The animated format is expected to allow for greater creative freedom and more visceral, expansive action sequences, pushing the boundaries of violence and gore as indicated by its R-rating.
The film boasts a talented voice cast including Lindsay LaVanchy, Louis Ozawa, Rick Gonzalez, and veteran genre actor Michael Biehn, whose presence evokes fond memories of classic sci-fi action films. The screenplay is penned by Micho Robert Rutare, from a story conceived by Trachtenberg and Rutare. Animation duties were handled by The Third Floor.
“Predator: Killer of Killers” arrives as part of a renewed push for the Predator universe following the critical and commercial success of Prey. Interestingly, this animated feature will precede Trachtenberg’s next live-action Predator film, Predator: Badlands, which is slated for a November 7, 2025 release. This strategic staggered release suggests a deliberate effort to keep the franchise vibrant and diverse, offering fans different interpretations and expanded lore.
With its anthology format, R-rated content, and the creative vision of Dan Trachtenberg at the helm, “Predator: Killer of Killers” promises to be a thrilling and visually distinct addition to the enduring saga of the Yautja. Fans eager for more brutal hunts and innovative storytelling within the Predator universe should mark their calendars for its June 6th arrival.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
