English Dub Review: The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows “Special Service”

Overview:

After dealing with the rampaging golem, Zenos and his friends visit a hot spring to recuperate.

Our Take:

When a man goes to a hot springs with six women, there’s only one thing on their minds, usually. Luckily, Zenos isn’t an oblivious protagonist, at least not to the extent that a lot of harem protagonists are. I’m fairly certain he can tell the ladies are interested in him, but he doesn’t care. They all came into the hot spring bath he was in, and it clearly wasn’t an accident. It’s a bit frustrating watching a show like this because you know that more than likely the romance will never pan out, or if it does, then it won’t be for a very long time.

One thing that came from the visit was that a healer from the royal hospital happened to be there as well. Someone got injured, and she wasn’t able to help very much, but of course, Zenos healed him no problem. This led to one of the quickest manhunts in history because the leader of the royal hospital, Becker, found Zenos and offered him a commission to join the hospital. I hope this doesn’t mean Zenos is leaving the slums. I don’t think he would have accepted so readily if it did, but you never know.
