English Dub Review: The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows “A Place to Belong”

Overview:

Zenos’ old party find themselves at an impasse, and wondering if they kicked out the reason for their success.

Our Take:

I’ve seen plenty of dumb and oblivious anime character’s in my day but all the guys in Zenos’ old party might take the cake. The party leader, Aston has to be the dumbest one though. He was in the middle of a fight and his arm got cut but Zenos healed him right away. I know I might not have any battlefield experience but I think you might notice if you get wounded and then healed right away.

Either way, now that the Golden Phoenix adventuring party has gone out without Zenos, they’ve started to see how much they might need him. In their first battle they got wrecked but thought they didn’t prepare enough. When they went back they encountered the same result.

My favorite part of the episode had to be Aston going to the slums looking for Zenos. He meets with all three of the underworld bosses and as you might have guessed they told him to kick rocks. They did eventually find Zenos though and he did offer to help them out every once in a while but he’s going to get paid for what he’s worth. It seemed like that was going to be the end of it but then an ancient golem began razing the slums. Aston’s visit and the golem’s appearance can possibly be a coincidence can it?
