English Dub Review: My Hero Academia: Vigilantes “Major”
Overview:
The American hero Captain Celebrity sets up shop in Japan, and it isn’t long before trouble begins.
Our Take:
Regarding hero names, I think Captain Celebrity might be one of the worst. But if we’re ranking them based on how they fit a person, then this one is spot on. Captain Celebrity is as big a douche as he sounds like. He’s a typical womanizer and only cares about helping people so long as there is a crowd and a PR opportunity. It was surprising that Makoto was one of his “cheerleaders,” but what wasn’t surprising was his making a move on her. Fortunately, Makoto is pretty smart and ended up calling his wife to make any issues go away.
The next episode is going to be pretty fun, I think. Koichi’s mother is in town, and of course, he lied and told her that he has a girlfriend. You don’t have to be a genius to figure out that he’s going to get either Pop-Step or Makoto to “pretend” to be his girlfriend. If I had to guess, I would think that he will ask Makoto because she’s more “normal” and isn’t in high school. But it’s clear that Pop-Step has a crush on Koichi, and if he doesn’t ask her, that’s going to cause its own set of problems.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
