English Dub Review: 2.5 Dimensional Seduction “Time For Our First Event!”

Overview:

Okumura and Ririsa head to their first cosplay event, but all they can think about is how much this feels like a date!

Our Take:

I swear, sometimes these characters do more to hurt their chances of love than help. What I mean is that Mikari asked Ririsa how she felt about Okumura. Ririsa wasn’t even thinking about him like that, but when Mikari suggested that she might have a crush on him, everything came into focus. They’re going to a cosplay event, and now both of them are worried it could be a date.

The event did not go swimmingly at all because Ririsa forgot to put a cover on the DVDs, and they didn’t have any posters either. So there they were, two kids selling a cosplay DVD with no marketing whatsoever to let people know what they were getting. It didn’t help that the group next to them was some of the most famous cosplayers at the event.

This led to Okumura asking Ririsa to cosplay as Liliel as a way to help sell the DVDs. When she got to the changing room, she realized she had left a lot of her stuff at home. Hobbies are done by people, and when people love a hobby, lots of things can happen. Like a bunch of strangers coming to the rescue of someone cosplaying at their first event. I loved getting to see people help Ririsa make her cosplay work, and I hope she kills it before the event ends.
