English Dub Review: The Apothecary Diaries “Ka Zuigetsu”

Overview:

Maomao discovers Jinshi’s secret. She wants nothing to do with whatever the politics behind it is.

Our Take(Spoilers):

This probably isn’t my first time saying this, but I don’t see Maomao as the type of person to fall in love. She has no interest in others and doesn’t know how to tell other people’s emotions. With this being a romance show, I don’t see how it will go anywhere if she doesn’t grow in that regard. But it was nice to learn the truth about Jinshi.

I’ve had my suspicions, as I’m sure anyone who watches this show has had. But now we KNOW that not only is Jinshi the brother of the Emperor, but he still has all of his private bits. Maomao found out the latter by, umm, grabbing it for a while. For some reason, she thought it was a frog. She even went so far as to convince him not to tell her because she didn’t want to learn information that could compromise her. She then made fun of the “frog’s” size, which, if you’re a guy, you might know can be a sensitive subject. Now that the secrets are out, I hope we can have more moments with Maomao and Jinshi, but I feel like there are bigger problems afoot.
