Overview (Spoilers Below): Clover returns to Glad Shi-im with three other parties in hopes of uncovering the truth of the twilight city.
Our Take: With some of the dungeon’s secrets revealed, Clover is now racing against the clock to save their world from the “culling”. With Yuke now being the “chosen hero” his world needed to prevent this apocalyptic outcome, the stakes have never been much higher, at least for him and his team. But, of course, they’re not in it alone, as they’re joined by the other parties to investigate further and seal Glad Shi-im. Clover only made little progress in the previous episodes due to the monsters, Loge’s cryptic messages, and the unusual side effects from the city’s twilight. Fortunately, this week’s episode has Clover finally reaching the royal archives with the other teams and Niberune, who’s said to be connected to the Twilight City and the Golden Priestess inside her. It goes to show that one party isn’t enough to make it through the dungeon, especially one that holds more mysteries than Achromatic Darkness. Although the other parties didn’t quite help as much besides tagging along, Fullbound’s leader, Zaccard, may be the only character with some hint of development if the later episodes are proven accurate. Zaccard didn’t seem to approve of Clover leading the mission despite the latter’s accomplishments in Achromatic Darkness. However, with him and his Fullbound party exploring the dungeon further, his opinions could change when Clover has to rescue them from the dungeon’s deepest depths. Besides that, this is another expedition-heavy episode that doesn’t involve much fighting, but that doesn’t make it less interesting. One particular reason is that Yuke and Rain seem closer than ever when she attempts to comfort him amid his concerns about his new position. The other is that they found even more clues involving the origins of Glad Shi-im and a profound spell called “Multi-Destruction Magic Formula”, which could unleash a dangerous domino effect if used properly. Would they be able to help Clover prevent the “culling”? For Yuke’s sake, we could all hope so.
