English Dub Review: Black Butler -Emerald Witch Arc- “His Butler, Sounding the Alarm”

Overview:

Wolfram installs the group in the Castle. Ciel and Sullivan sit down to dine, only to receive shocking news.

Our Take:

I still find it fascinating that Ciel finds werewolves existing a crazy idea when his butler is a demon. Like how can you have a butler who is ACTUALLY from the underworld but werewolves are too much? The girl he’s staying with claims to be a witch as well but he never says anything negative about that. It’s a weird thing to bring up but he did it last episode and he did it in this one too so as long as he brings it up I probably will too because man that’s wild.

Speaking of the witch, it’s hard to understand what some of the characters are saying when they speak in a German accent but I’m pretty sure she was attempting to get Ciel to sleep with her. Again, it was hard to understand what she was saying but I like to think I’m decent at reading context clues and that’s what seemed to be happening. He’s not the only one that was put in an uncomfortable situation as the episode ended with Sebastian coming across something that brought tears to his eyes.
