Blue Eye Samurai: First Director Named For Upcoming Second Season
Not slated to premiere until 2026, the Emmy-winning Blue Eye Samurai is currently in production for a second season for Netflix and we now know who one of the directors that will be tapped for the upcoming season…John Aoshima. With six episodes on the way coming from the Amber Noizumi & Michael Green created series, it’s still unknown how many episodes in total John will be guest directing on.
The news comes as Deadline is reporting that John has also signed on to WB Animation as a new Director in Development and leaves behind an impressive resume that also includes American Dad!, Gravity Falls and a slew of other projects.

Update 4/19: Freddie Fox has joined the voice cast and Alan Taylor will be directing for the upcoming season.

Blue Spirit is the animation studio. Voice cast includes Maya Erskine (Mizu), George Takei (Seki), Masi Oka (Ringo), Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (The Swordmaker), Brenda Song (Akemi), Darren Barnet (Taigen), Randall Park (Heiji Shindo), and Kenneth Branagh (Abijah Fowler). Supporting voice cast includes Stephanie Hsu (Ise), Ming-Na Wen (Madame Kaji), Harry Shum Jr. (Takayoshi) and Mark Dacascos (Chiaki), among others.

Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
