Review: Krapopolis “The Weather Stick”
Overview
It’s HOT in Krapopolis, but luckily Shlub has a little trick up his sleeve to help Ty stay nice and cool — now if only Ty can learn to keep some things for himself; Deliria’s temple becomes home to the sweaty soldiers and worshipers seeking shelter from the heat… and seeking love.
Our Take
Dash Turner is not just a long-time story editor for Krapopolis but a long-time story editor for Hulu’s Solar Opposites. So, it would stand to reason that the budding writer would be long versed in storylines having to do with gadgets with consequences and that’s exactly what we get with tonight’s all-new episodes. The results? Of all of the shows on FOX’s Animation Domination lineup tonight, Krapopolis was by far the most fun, let’s dig in.
The speed dating bit in Deliria’s temple I could’ve done without because we’ve seen a lot of other shows go this route and Stupe trying to find love is nothing new. The tickle trolls, however, I wouldn’t mind seeing more of in the future so gimme some of that!
In any event, Ty’s new godlike powers by way of a magic stick courtesy of Shlub’s new box of treats gives us a fun outing that is indicative of what I thought we would get a lot more of during our time with Krapopolis thus far. Premises with trial and error takes on tools that we now take for granted that eventually leads to discovery was one of the more inviting attributes of the series when it was first announced and with this week’s episode focused on a wand that can create thunderstorms just goes to show that the possibilities could really be endless by continually going down this route, double goes for Shlub’s box of toys that seemed to look increasingly interesting as he was going through his collection.
Overall we get one of the funnier episodes of Krapopolis in a while. Again, I could care less about the speed dating portion, but watching Ty go nuts for 20 minutes with a magic stick that then gains the ire of a king voiced by Danny Trejo is plenty enough funny and is a premise that I think the show can go to more often and have more fun with.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
