English Dub Review: Honey Lemon Soda “Summon the Courage”

Overview:

It’s summer break! Uka, Serina, and Kai all summon their courage and communicate.

Our Take:

This episode, we finally got a lot of steps forward from Ishimori without a bunch of backwards steps as well. Everyone decides to go to the beach, and while Ishimori wasn’t brave enough to wear a swimsuit, she was brave enough to confront her bullies and have a conversation with them. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that they deserve forgiveness or are even good people necessarily, but I was happy to see that they didn’t continue to bully her and she didn’t Miura’s help.

Speaking of Miura, I was happy to see that he was honest and clear when he spoke to Serina about his feelings. He rejected her and there were no misunderstandings that could be had, not only that, I loved what he said to Ishimori. When she learned he rejected Serina, she was upset and asked him why. He told her that she can’t control how other people feel and she needs to understand that. Also I’d like to give a final shout out to Ishimori for finally asking Miura for his number. I think our girl is finally growing up.
