English Dub Review: Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time “The Fox-Eared Girl of the Royal Capital”

Overview (Spoilers Below):
Takumi and the girls continue their journey to the Royal Capital, but Takumi’s overworking behavior causes great concern.  As a result, Takumi is tasked with hiring an assistant, leading him to confront a nervous Beastman who shares a common interest.

Our Take:
Takumi and the others have earned themselves a Drake Horse as their companion.  However, that doesn’t stop his harem party from growing even larger.  You heard that right, folks.  We’re getting another addition to Takumi’s harem party in this week’s episode, but there’s actually a good reason behind it aside from fan service.  Takumi’s alchemist skills have been beneficial in crafting amazing things for his business, including the magical toilets and a carriage whose interior resembles a second home akin to an RV.  However, it isn’t without his limits that prevent him from accomplishing his tasks at an efficient pace.  With Takumi pushing himself to exhaustion, Sofia and Maria were concerned that he wouldn’t be able to see the light of day if this condition continued.
So, this left Takumi to hire another slave who could work as an alchemist assistant to ease his exhaustion, leading him to recruit a timid fox girl named Reyva.  Reyva desires to be useful with her alchemist skills to earn money for her poverty-stricken village, even though she’s not quite as intelligent due to her low confidence.  However, Takumi quickly opens up to her, further showcasing his generous yet gullible persona.  Of course, the gullible part is due to him not caring for his health despite having immense alchemist skills.  I would credit this episode for making Takumi’s limitations its main scenario since it highlights the flaws of having overpowered capabilities, making this easily disposable show a bit more interesting than it should be.  With Takumi’s party continuing to grow, would it be enough to counter what Sidonia has planned?
