English Dub Review: Medalist “Meikoh Cup, Junior Women’s Prelim Free Skating (Part Two)”
Overview:
Inori came in top in the first round of the Prelims, whereas Miké was the last to secure a spot. Determined to turn things around, Miké decides to try and pull off a double rotation combination that no one at the Prelims has done before.
Our Take:
I felt bad for Mike in this episode, but it showed how differently she approaches things compared to Inori. When Inori messed up, she kept going like nothing happened, but when Mike messed up, she dwelt on it for so long that she started her routine over, which meant she lost out on points. But I think losing the way she did will ultimately benefit her in the long run because it helped her see the error of her ways. She stopped being combative with Inori and rekindled their friendship in one of the cutest scenes of the show so far.
Meanwhile, another rivalry is brewing between Tsukasa and Hikaru’s coach, Jun Yodaka, who was a gold medalist during Tsukasa’s performing days. Someone with that kind of prestige has a lot of weight behind his words, so when he tells Inori she’s “naive” and will never beat Hikaru, Tsukasa gets upset. I hope this doesn’t effect Hikaru and Inori’s relationship and they can stay “friendly” rivals.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
