English Dub Review: Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms “Legend with Him”

Overview:

Mona and Medaka find themselves at the Bridge of Love, the location of the school festival legend.

Our Take:

Every time there’s a school festival in anime there’s some “legend” around someone falling in love. I know it’s a part of Japanese school life and honestly, I might be jealous. I understand that anime paints everything with rose-colored glasses but I don’t know about everyone else my high school didn’t have any unique traditions or superstitions. So when I see an episode like this with a legend I get both parts angry and excited. It could be a bonfire where if you touch hands you fall in love or something like that and I eat it up.

With this being a rom-com it should come as no surprise that there is something similar like that here. Medaka decides to help Mona move some things to another part of the school and guess where they happened to go by? The Bridge of Love is the focus of this school’s legend, and you better believe that Mona noticed. Medaka claimed that since it was after festival hours it doesn’t count but this isn’t my first rodeo. If this isn’t confirmation that they’ll be together then nothing is.
