English Dub Review: Blue Lock “Not Alone”

Overview:

Seeing the players’ upgrades, Sae takes his play to the next level. In response, Rin starts aligning his thoughts with Sae’s and drastically changing his play style. Then, Rin realizes that Blue Lock players have been keeping up with his play.

Our Take:

If Bachira is your favorite character, I have some good news for you. This episode might be your favorite thus far. It seems like everyone is letting out their inner monster but Bachira has always been with him side by side. He and Isagi have been the closest things to best friends and I think their friendship is still solid but it was interesting to see him yell at Isagi.

As far as the animation goes when they do closeups and focus on the guys getting in touch with their inner monster it’s amazing. When we zoom out and see the soccer at a distance that’s where the trouble starts.

What’s going to be interesting is how far Rin decides to take his anger next time. He looked like he was about to destroy Isagi. I don’t think he’s okay with everyone catching up to him and working together but I thought wanting to win would outweigh any of that.
