English Dub Review: Blue Lock “Last Attack”
Overview:
Rin enters his “flow,” and Isagi’s faith in Rin’s trance state pays off when Isagi applies what he’s learned about the mechanism of luck back when he lost to Rin. Can the Blue Lock XI beat Japan’s U-20s, and what awaits them after the match?
Our Take:
I started to think I was out on Blue Lock , and then they gave us an episode like this. If every episode was like this one, we would be talking about one of the best seasons of a sports anime we’ve ever seen. There wasn’t one bad part of this episode. Normally, I’ll work on other reviews while watching this show, but I had to give it my full attention only a couple of minutes in.
Rin was on a rampage and I’m going to be honest, at first I would have been alright with him being the one to finish this match. But finally, after an entire season, Isagi decided to be the main character again. And boy did he pick the right time because his clutch game-winning goal was one of the most hype things I’ve seen in a long time. Not since Kuroko’s Basketball have I been that excited watching a sports anime.
Special shout-out to Matt Shipman and the animation department for this episode. Matt Shipman channeled so much anger and rage in this episode that I wouldn’t be surprised if he ruined his voice for a bit. After a whole season of shitty CGI, I didn’t think we’d get classic hand-drawn animation for the final episode. But we did and I don’t want to say it salvaged the whole season but it at least made me wish for more Blue Lock.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
