English Dub Review: Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest “Thank God She’s Still a Pervert!”
Overview
Hajime rescues Shizuku in the nick of time, just as she is about to succumb to the labyrinth’s trial. Suzu, Ryutarou, and Tio also face their tests.
Our Take
This episode is more of a continuation of the “previous one” as the group continues to face personal challenges that test their resolve in the Icy Labyrinth. Through determination and self-reflection, they confront their inner struggles, leading to moments of emotional depth and newfound confidence. Some find strength in unexpected ways, while others prove their resilience by embracing their true selves.
The 2nd half focuses on Tio as much of the episode title stems from her perverted masochistic attitude towards Hajime, yet the balance between action and introspection makes for a compelling watch while ensuring that the story remains engaging with its impactful revelations that are handled in a sometimes emotional yet meaningful way.
Overall, this was a decent episode that managed not to feel like filler. All of this leads to Shizuku’s development and finally has her step out of the shadow of others’ expectations and gives her a heaping dose of self-acceptance, which helps add weight to her character. And Tio’s trial, though less conventional, reinforces her capability and resolve while hilariously referring to her in the episode in a not-so-subtle way. And with what the post-credits scene teased, I’m curious to see where it goes next!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
