English Dub Review: Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You. “Warmth”
Overview:
Afraid of ruining their relationship, Mizuho tells herself not to fall for Kizuki. All the stress makes her ill, and her friends come to help.
Our Take:
My biggest problem with this show is that it feels like something that runs during the day when kids are at school. I haven’t read the manga, so maybe some of the artistic decisions are from that, but the background characters being featureless and made of polka dots is an interesting choice to me. This is by no means the first anime to handle background characters in this way. But it’s usually done as a way to save the budget or cut corners to make other things better, and in this case, I don’t see that anywhere. The animation isn’t leagues better anywhere else or anything, and to be honest, I’m disappointed so far.
It’s not just the animation that’s disappointing, but the story as well. Maybe it’s my fault, but in most cases, when an anime or manga has a title like this one, it ends up being a tearjerker that makes me question things. This one isn’t finished yet, but I don’t think I’ll be thinking about it for weeks at a time when it’s over.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
