English Dub Review: Medalist “Prelim Badge Test”

Overview:

Tsukasa and Hitomi encourage Inori to take the Badge Test, a certification exam for figure skating which will allow Inori to qualify for competitions. On the day of the test, Inori meets a beautiful girl who looks like a princess.

Our Take:

I knew that Inori would eventually meet the girl she idolized on TV, Hitomi. I’m glad it didn’t go the way I thought it would and that Hitomi is actually really nice. If it wasn’t for her I don’t think Inori would have gotten as fired up as she did. Inori asked Tsukasa to help her become the greatest ice skater in the world and it made me realize we could all use a coach like Tsukasa.

I truly believe a great coach can change someone’s life. I’m not saying that they build someone up to be a pro in whatever sport but they can inspire large amounts of self-confidence. I don’t think adults realize how much they do effects the rest of a child’s life. By believing in them and inspiring them to do the best they can makes an impact that lasts a lifetime.

Something tells me this anime will have me in my emotions most weeks and this was just a teaser. The animation has been fantastic and I am all in on this journey we’re going on with Tsukasa and Inori. The thing about Inori is that she has a lot of character and she makes some of the funniest faces I’ve seen in anime lately. I can’t wait to see where her sports journey takes her next.
