English Dub Review: Magic Maker: How to Make Magic in Another World “Goblin Attack”
Overview
Goblins are sighted near the village. Gawain goes to hunt them while Shion and others from the village hide in the mansion for protection. Suddenly, there’s a pounding at the door and a window shatters—a goblin has broken into the mansion.
Our Take
This time around, we get an episode that was quite gripping and intense in terms of the danger and tension of a life-or-death struggle in a world filled with unknown threats. As Shion’s determination and resourcefulness were on full display, highlighting their ability to think quickly and adapt to dire circumstances.
The dynamic between Shion and his father added an emotional layer to the narrative, exploring themes of fear, trust, and the unknown. The cautious yet supportive relationship reflected the challenges of balancing tradition with new possibilities, making their interactions feel relatable and meaningful. Meanwhile, Shion’s resolve to rise to the occasion hinted at his potential for growth and resilience.
Overall, the episode was a strong blend of tension, emotion, and character exploration. The attention to detail in building suspense and portraying the stakes made for a compelling watch especially with how Shion unexpectedly responded to the situations before him and also giving a minor change to the status quo by the end.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
