English Dub Review: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? “(Vesta) Altar of the Sacred Flame

As Bell discovers the truth about Syr and confronts Freya, Hestia unleashes her power. As the Goddess of the Hearth, she is the most formidable deity in Orario.

Our Take:

I would never say that Hestia is useless—far from it—but I don’t think she’s done much so far in the story. When Bell was stuck in the dungeon, she helped mount a rescue, but she didn’t personally go. So it feels a little odd that now she is being called the most formidable deity in Orario. But maybe this is part of what the story has been building to, and now we’re going to see how powerful Hestia is.

We’re only in the fifth season of this show and we’re already getting our second war game. I wondered what Freya would do when confronted with defeat and if I’m not mistaken a war game presents her with the only chance she has to retain Bell. But this time I won’t be surprised if the Hestia familia gets the help of others from different familias. Unless it’s against the rules I would be very surprised if Ais doesn’t join in to help Bell. If there’s anything I’ve truly loved from this arc it’s seeing Ais finally show some emotion about and towards Bell.
