Review: The Great North “The Lies Aquatic Adventure”
Overview
While Beef is away, the Tobin fishing boat goes missing; the Tobin siblings wildly speculate on what could have happened.
Our Take
The season five premiere kicks of with an almost anthology episode that sees the kids reminiscing about what happened to Beef’s boat only to find out that he sold it for another boat and didn’t tell anyone. I won’t spoil the specifics for each of the made up stories but my personal favorite ended up being Honeybee’s story due to the slightly cuter and more unique aesthetic and actually wish the rest of the episode did a bit more variety this way as a result. Still though, got to give props to director Karen Hydendahl for the beautiful job she did there knowing full well she’s a regular here at The Great North.
This week’s episode comes from show creators Wendy Molyneux & Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin so you know there’s going to be some funny bits laden throughout the episode. Wolf’s story acts on the ramifications of his fairy tale idea and the name of Beef’s new boat is fantastic and I hope the paint job never gets fixed. I’ll be excited to see the Tobins take on new adventures in the new boat moving forward especially as we kick off the fifth season.
Next weekend sees the return of the ongoing Animation Domination lineup that kicked off the Fall season but with a shortened schedule so we don’t know when the next new episode of The Great North is going to commence but keep it locked here as we move through the season. Until then, happy holidays!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
