English Dub Review: Nina the Starry Bride “The Path of the Stars”

Overview:

Sett remains unconscious after the attempt on his life, and Nina is accused of attempting to kill him.

Our Take:

All I can say is that it was a disappointment. It was similar to getting the ball down to the one-yard line and fumbling it away. A season’s ending can have multiple factors leading to it either being good or bad. If I had to choose right now, I would say this is up there with the worst endings. As of this writing, there are no plans or announcements for a second season of Nina the Starry Bride and that is the main offender here. I will say that I would be surprised if there isn’t a second-season announcement around the corner soon but I only have my current info to go off.

The ending was massively depressing and left off on a huge cliffhanger. I’ve been currently watching Dandadan as well and the endings felt similar. It was like they were left off in the middle of an arc, but in Dandadan’s case, we already have a second-season announcement.

I couldn’t help but feel confused by the post-credits scene as well. It seemed like Sett knew that Nina was innocent and in danger but it could have also been taken as he wants to know where she is so he can kill her himself. The fact that it seemed like he killed, or at least wounded, his shitty brother leads me to believe it’s the former. I loved this show and this left a final sour-taste in my mouth. Hopefully, we get some good news before my season review.
