English Dub Review: Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War “Gate of the Sun”

Yhwach builds his new castle, Wahr Welt.

Our Take:

I love Askin’s honesty, and as a villain, I can respect his decision to run when Ichigo’s group discovers him. That boy took off so fast you wouldn’t think he was your typical bad guy. My favorite part was when Grimmjow asked why he was running if he was planning on fighting them in the first place. Askin responded by saying, “No, I was here to kill you, not fight you, big difference,” and I can respect that.

What I can’t respect is Uryu’s bitch ass, I swear, I know based on my anime viewing experience that he and Ichigot will be friends again after this is all said and done. Depending on how it’s done it might piss me off. That boy has burned all the bridges if it was me, I can understand Ichigo not killing him or something when this is over but I couldn’t be friends with someone after what he’s done.

There hasn’t been a lot of fighting in this season so far. I also have to question if the court guard squads have a plan or not. It looked like a lot of significant characters just got sniped and are dead now but we didn’t get the best look. Let’s hope that during the next episode, we don’t learn of a bunch of characters dying off-screen.
