English Dub Review: Trillion Game “Trillion Game Corporation”

OVERVIEW (SPOILERS)

Gaku and Haru hire their very first employee…their new President, Rinrin Takahashi.

OUR TAKE

Trillion Game continues to fly by the seat of its pants and pretend that it’s working as our duo add a new member to the team, who turns out to be their new president. As Haru puts it, they want to stand out as a company, and what stands out more than having their youngest member be their president? This is understandably disappointing news for said new recruit, Rinrin, who we see through flashbacks has had trouble finding work of much kind and has now saddled herself to a start up company without any sort of business plan, and one that seems to be potentially leaving her holding the bag if things go under. However, Haru continues to be someone who knows how to use his words to get what he wants, as he convinces her to stay because they need HER. Not simply someone to fill a position, someone who brings things to the table that only she provides. In an earlier part of the episode, as they interview potential candidates with a risky scenario in a business book (written by the father of Kirika, who is still doggedly after them), they see that Rinrin refuses to answer as she already read that book.

Though as Gaku also puts out, it’s pretty odd for the two of them to be giving interviews at all considering neither of them have done much outside of high school, which kind of goes to show how odd this whole arrangement is and how much it’s running basically on duct tape and a prayer. But they’re persisting anyway, and it seems hiring Rinrin is already paying off as she already has an actual business plan for them to use: Go into security, something easy for them provide due to Gaku’s incredibly hacking skills. Haru also points out that many companies use AI for their security, typically if they don’t know what they’re doing, so he decides they’ll advertise themselves as a fake AI, or maybe just pretend to be AI? The wording is weird so I guess we’ll have to wait until next episode to find out exactly what that means, but the point is that Trillion Game finally has something tangible to provide to investors and customers. The lack of that was probably one of my biggest gripes with the show thus far, so I’m glad they finally got around to that…seven episodes in out of twenty six, but hey, better late than never.
