English Dub Review: Trillion Game “Flowers and Splendor”
I can’t believe it’s not AI
OVERVIEW (SPOILERS)
Haru, Gaku, and Rinrin try their hand at Vtubing and pretending its AI, using that fake AI to run a flower shop, and then selling that fake AI to local business.
OUR TAKE
Well damn, it seems that once the boys finally got a president, the business maneuvers are coming in hot and fast! We ended last episode with them looking into a security business, pivoting to AI, and then settling on faking an AI. Now we see that fake AI was really just doing a Vtubing service for picking out flower arrangements, which Rinrin ended up doing most of the work for, until they finally found a local business to pawn it off on without telling them there was no AI involved. Though it seems that one of the executives was already onto their game and could recognize a person doing things behind the scenes…but had no issue with it for some reason, even seeing this as evidence of their business acumen. It basically makes clear that this episode is more about Haru’s ability to bullshit and parkour to the next idea. Their company may have a name now but there’s no reason it has to be just about one thing. Hell, I don’t really know my business history, but I do know that Nintendo started out as a hanafuda card company in the 1880’s and didn’t turn to making video games until NEARLY A CENTURY LATER.
This is definitely the most interested and engaged I’ve been with this series so far, though it does raise some potential concerns, specifically about where exactly the conflict going forward is going to come from. What I mean is that it can be fun and all to see them come up with ideas and easily maneuver past any financial issue that comes their way, but I already know that they all become obscenely rich in the near future thanks to the flash forwards (which have been suspiciously absent the past few weeks oddly enough). You can have Gaku freak out and worry about things as much as you like, but we literally already know where this is going, so what exactly are we supposed to be worried about for them? We’re just about at a third of the way through this series and these are things that are usually made clear pretty early on. But I guess I’m in this series for the long haul anyway so I suppose I’ll find out whether we’ll get an answer to that question soon enough. I gotta say though, it’s really looking like the answer is “not a damn thing.”
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
