English Dub Review: Shangri-La Frontier “The Impetus of Hunger; the Persistence of Thirst”
Overview
Sunraku’s attempts to farm the Crystal Scorpions for money are complicated when a giant gold scorpion enters the fray…
Our Take
This time around, we get a very action-focused adventure as Sunraku faces off against an unexpected challenge—a rare, golden scorpion with overwhelming abilities. The encounter highlights his resourcefulness, forcing him to rely on his wits and making the rest of the proceedings feel compelling and suspenseful.
The animation and fight choreography maintain a high standard, delivering fluid sequences that effectively immerse the viewer despite how weird the CGI looks on the scorpion designs. Yet the fight itself and the tricks Sunraku has up his sleeve more than made up for it.
Overall for a filler episode, this was pretty damn action heavy and I mean it in a good way. Sunraku’s growth as a character, both in skill and level, reflects his dedication and determination. Also while not much was going on with the other characters, the post-credits scene managed to give me a good chuckle at least…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
