English Dub Review: Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night “What I Love”

Overview

JELEE may have emerged intact, but Mahiru struggles to meet Yukine’s requested revisions. With the deadline hanging over her head, she and Kiui look back on an old art class…

Our Take

This episode not only picks up from Mei’s incident but also centers on themes of self-expression and personal growth. And it’s here when some of the best moments are highlighted as the lead characters are confronting their doubts and external judgments, especially Kiui who was easily the highlight, and her speech against some haters from her school after being Doxxed was pretty damn powerful…

The dynamics between key characters felt genuine, highlighting the importance of friendships and support systems. There’s a strong sense of unity and determination that ties the narrative together, setting the stage for hopefully an impactful conclusion.

Overall, this episode excelled in terms of emotional depth with meaningful progression Bu with one episode left, I hope the last episode ties up some loose ends as it wouldn’t feel earned if they fixed things too early plus, Mahiru/Yoru’s request at the end left me wanting to see where this goes.
