English Dub Review: Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War “AGAINST THE JUDGEMENT”

Overview:

Yhwach is overflowing with power from having absorbed the Soul King.

Our Take:

I can trace my love of a certain trope back to Dragonball Z. I remember watching Goku fight so hard to defeat Vegeta. Then we get to the Namek Saga, where Vegeta helps Goku and his friends. You know what they say: “The enemy of my enemy is my friend,” and I love that trope. So I wasn’t surprised when Aizen was recruited to help with Yhwach and the Quincy’s. I was surprised, however, when there were some Quincy’s that wanted to kill Yhwach, I suppose I would too if he decided to not care about me and leave me to die. 

We got next to no Ichigo in this episode, but that was about the only problem I had. I’m excited to see what happens with this giant team-up. The show wants us to believe that we’ve seen the last of Aizen, in a helping capacity at least. But if you know Aizen, then you know that there’s no way we’ve seen the last of him. His plans have plans. I wouldn’t be surprised if getting caught and Yhwach coming to the Soul Society were a plan of his.
