Season Review: The Legend of Vox Machina Season Three
Overview:
Vox Machina travels the land recruiting allies and trying to acquire more Vestiges of Divergence to take down Thordak and the Chroma Conclave.
Our Take:
I was lucky enough to be involved in a press junket before the third season premiered and one thing I noticed was that the theme of this season was going to be relationships. Some romantic some not, but it was all going to be about this team coming closer together than ever before. Another thing they mentioned was that there was going to be heartbreak. I wasn’t sure if that meant romantic advances didn’t go how they wanted or what but we soon learn that is not what they meant. I’m going to take this opportunity to give a spoiler warning because I can’t go into the themes I just mentioned without spoiling some things. If you want to know if the season is good then yes it’s amazing give it a watch! However, I would recommend watching the previous two seasons first to avoid confusion.
Eventually, the team has to learn to deal with loss when one of their team, Percy, is killed. It was hard for everyone but it was especially difficult for Vex. She was having trouble coming to terms with her feelings for Percy and before she knew it he was gone. Luckily this is a magical world and if you’ve played enough Dungeons and Dragons you’ll know that no one stays dead if you have the right spell.
The voice talent once again reigns supreme in The Legend of Vox Machina. I suppose that’s what you get when a bunch of amazing voice actors get together to play D&D. My standout was probably Marisha Ray who voices Keyleth. She had a lot of turmoil to deal with this season but also a lot of growth.
A fourth season has already been confirmed and I hope we don’t have to wait too long for it. Season two premiered in January of 2023 and this came out in October so I would guess that we get season four sometime in 2025, though with the animation of their The Mighty Nein campaign also on the horizon it could take a little longer. But if you’ve gotten this far I’m sure you’re a fan of the series then you’re going to love this season.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
