Report: Netflix Developing “In Case of Emergency” Adult Animated Comedy
British-produced adult animation has had a long dry spell. Usually puppets seem to be the weapon of choice when the Brits like going nuts, but that doesn’t mean the country has been completely devoid of original series. Just recently we reviewed a series called The Golden Cobra but now it looks like Netflix is trying to change all of that because according to Deadline, the biggest streamer in the world is teaming up with the creators from CBS’s Ghosts for a new adult animated comedy featuring local Brit talent entitled In Case of Emergency.
The article notes “like Family Guy” but really the animated comedy in question appears to be more of a workplace setting more than anything else as the series is set in a British hospital. The aforementioned creators will be working with Big Talk Studios and Blue Zoo Animation. The series hasn’t been greenlit yet but Netflix appears eager to try and bring this one home.
