English Dub Review: VTuber Legend: How I Went Viral after Forgetting to Turn Off My Stream “Episode 12”

Overview

Asagiri Hareru’s long-awaited concert is here, with her and Awayuki’s duet as the finale. Through it, Awayuki finally learns about Hareru’s past – and the true nature of the connection that brought them together today.

Our Take

Hareru Asagiri, one of the key figures in the series, steps back into the spotlight after being absent for much of the story. She reflects on her journey and takes pride in the growth of her successors, particularly Awayuki, as they prepare for a major event. Though Hareru is nervous about sharing the stage with the new generation, she embraces the moment with confidence and grace.

The event becomes a meaningful passing of the torch, where both Hareru and Awayuki shine in a heartfelt performance that celebrates their bond, while also paying tribute to Hareru’s journey and the legacy she leaves behind, and properly highlighting the camaraderie between the characters. And as an added bonus, it uses this moment to underscore its love for the VTuber world and community.

Overall, the finale delivers a touching and well-executed conclusion to the series. The mix of humor, emotion, and celebration of the characters’ growth feels rewarding for fans. The episode honors its roots, and the final performance despite the CGI feeling like I was watching an episode of “RWBY” only it was better and more fluid in it’s animation, creating a memorable and satisfying close to the season. Especially the post credits scene that was a nice touch to all of it.
