English Dub Review: Trillion Game “You Can Surely Win”
OVERVIEW (SPOILERS)
Haru and Gaku get an offer for 51% control from Kirika, and join a hacking tournament to look for better offers.
OUR TAKE
It’s really hard to believe this show is going to have twenty six episodes, but here we are at the third. Obviously our main duo are, at least in these flashbacks, still in their early days of searching for investors and even still trying to come up with what the hell they’re even going to be selling. And while I can understand that choosing a singular thing might limit the story options, it would be nice to know what exactly this genius team is going to be doing to make their insanely large amount of cash so quickly. Unless it’s drugs, which it very well could be. Still, the point right now is to highlight how they’re working with limited options and to show how well they handle themselves within that. As such, even though they seem to have a good way forward with Kirika, who they met last episode, they seem to not be super satisfied with having the majority of their business being controlled by her, even if it’s just by one percent. As such, with the start up cash they’ve received, they head straight into looking for alternate investors, in this case being a coding competition that will show off Gaku’s skills.
But Gaku is only one half of this team, and while his coding abilities are a big part of how the two have even gotten this far, they couldn’t have done so without Haru’s mouth. As such, we see that he pulled some strings to make sure Gaku has a team behind him in the competition (everyone else involved also had a team, I just left that detail out accidentally). To do this, Haru sells his incredibly expensive watch, a very coveted item, in order to get this team for Gaku. This drives Gaku to tears and it’s clear why; Haru has unwavering faith in his partner to be able to accomplish anything they need as long as he has enough behind him. And Haru will do whatever he can, sacrifice whatever he has, which is very little at this point, in order to make that happen. But will these sacrifices pay off and get them closer to the next stage? Or will it all be for naught? Well…this is the third episode of twenty-six, so I think you can probably answer that for yourself if you think about it for just a couple seconds. And we’ll see how that goes next week!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
