English Dub Review: Tower of God “The Promise of That Day”

Overview:

Unaware that FUG agent Viole is Bam, Endorsi Jahad attempts to capture him. Meanwhile, Team Shibisu launches a surprise attack on the hotel where Team FUG is staying and Wangnan and Team Khun face off against Chang and Quaetro.

Our Take:

As I made clear last week, I’m a huge Endorsi fan and was looking forward to this episode. We barely got five minutes of screentime with here but it was impactful at least. They showed a flashback between her and Bam, where she got him to promise to take her on a date as a reward for her good performance. She also tripped and fell because of her shoes and Bam told her to get some shoes she could fight in. It then showed her in real time kicking the shit out of some robots in new shoes so clearly she values Bam’s opinion.

I’m not sure what Bam’s plan is currently. He doesn’t want his old team to know that he’s Viole but for some reason, he keeps showing up in front of them. I guess I’m a sentimental sap because I want to see him and the old crew back together including with his new team. Conventional wisdom tells me that will happen eventually but right now it’s frustrating. Maybe next week will clear some things up.
