English Dub Review: Nina the Starry Bride “The Lost Name”

Overview:

After sneaking out of her quarters, Nina runs into First Prince Muhulum, who is also out and about where he’s not supposed to be. As the castle prepares to celebrate the Festival of Stars, Nina considers sneaking back into the city.

Our Take:

This episode was a lot better and I’m on board with where I’m thinking this is going. Azure was being rather stubborn with Nina and not thinking about what all of this must be like for her. To be fair to him neither was I, I just looked at it like “Hey you’re part of a rich family now why are you upset?” But I’ve never thought of it from the perspective of who you used to be is essentially dead now. There is no one left who knows her as “Nina” and I can imagine that’s pretty sad. But Azure came through clutch by saying she will always be Nina to him so long as their alone. Typical shoujo scene to be sure but sometimes we need those in our life.

I think that Azure is supposed to be the love interest of the story so I’m intrigued to see how it will play out. Nina was brought in to pretend to be someone she’s not and marry someone else. Conventional wisdom tells me that means the person she is supposed to marry will end up being an asshole. I hope that’s not the case but true love just conquers all but I think we’ll find out sooner or later.
