English Dub Review: My Hero Academia “I Am Here”

Overview:

Trampling the heroes, All For One flies to become one with Shigaraki, and Dabi is about to explode with the heat he’s been storing up in his body. Will the Symbol be able to change this hopeless situation?

Our Take:

I’ve mentioned it in past reviews but it feels like it’s been a while since Deku was the main character. He has the power that All for One wants, but we’ve spent so much time with other characters lately that it feels like Deku has become a side character. If someone just watched the last few seasons they would probably think that Todoroki is the main character, with how much focus he and his family have gotten. I’ve mentioned that Endeavor has some of the best character development I’ve seen. While I still believe that it’s hard not to wonder if all the development of the Todoroki family came to the detriment of our main character.

Having said that, this was still an awesome episode that had me crying. Todoroki and Ida have an awesome relationship and seeing Ida give all he has to get Todoroki to his brother was sweet. However, I have to say that I know some of the character’s bodies have evolved to keep up with their quirks but I think falling on the asphalt going as fast as Ida was would still hurt. Especially for Todoroki but he kept marching on like nothing had happened even though we were told they were going as fast as a fighter jet. But the team-up was cool so I’ll give it a pass.
