English Dub Review: MF Ghost “The White Reaper Descends”
Overview
Kanata Katagiri/Rivington shows what he’s made of in the race on the Ashinoko track! With daring drifts through the dangerous “Death Zone,” he secures a provisional eighth place despite tough competition and technical challenges.
Our Take
The second season of MF Ghost kicks off with high-energy racing action, continuing from where the first season left off as Kanata takes on the intense MFG competition, driving his Toyota 86 through challenging qualifying rounds on a new course.
However, you can’t just make a show with racing scenes alone without characters to care about. And much like season one, it at least attempts moments of character development with mixed results, keeping the balance between high-speed action and moments of personal connection alongside the techno music and adrenaline-fueled action.
Overall, MF Ghost returns with exciting visuals and engaging races, building on the strengths of the first season. The high-quality animation and crisp visuals elevate the proceedings, while also capturing the adrenaline of the race and the spirit of the competition, even going as far as to introduce new opening and ending songs, with the music taking a different direction from the previous season’s Eurobeat focus. And with that particular cliffhanger, I’m curious to see where this goes next!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
