English Dub Review: I Parry Everything “I Parry a Goblin”
Overview (Spoilers Below):
The more Noor tries to clear up an understanding, the more complicated the situation gets! Meanwhile, Rein plots to use Noor as a future secret weapon.
Our Take:
Noor has gained an apprentice in the form of Lynne, whether he likes it or not. While having a partner makes things easier for Noor to handle, it also makes his misunderstandings much harder to clarify. His first quest with Lynne is no exception, as they’re sent to hunt goblins in the Forest of the Beasts. This leads to them confronting an extremely rare Goblin Emperor, who’s assumably another assassination plot conjured up by the Deridas Empire to kill Lynne. But of course, knowing Noor’s gullibility, he mistakes it for an ordinary goblin and, after killing it with Lynne, believes he’s not strong enough. Even worse, they couldn’t get paid because the evidence of their kill was burned alive. So much for an easy paycheck.
There’s also the matter of Lynne’s older brother, Rein, who’s been keeping a close eye on the events that occurred. This includes his father, King Clays’s decision to hand the “Unbreakable Blade” to Noor, concluding that the oblivious yet powerful adventurer could be helpful in their battle against the Deridas Empire. Undoubtedly, Noor’s gullibility continues to show as the series’s running gag in “I Parry a Goblin”. However, his meaningful but clueless intent on helping Lynne become strong prevented him from being too annoyingly dumb. The question now is how long it’ll maintain the protagonist’s personality until he realizes his potential.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
