English Dub Review: Berserk of Gluttony “The Village of Lost Memories”
Overview:
Myne and Fate travel to the ruins of Myne’s birthplace to face a terrifying new foe. The full might of Wrath and the soul-devouring nature of Gluttony combine their efforts in a fierce struggle against an ancient entity.
Our Take:
Holy crap this series is flying through the material! Or I didn’t read as much as I remember because we’re already to the point I read through. That makes me hope that there will be a second season because I have a feeling that they could finish the adaption.
The implications of some of the scenes in this episode are begging to be revealed but I think we’ll need that second season to get there. Myne is apparently over 4,000 years old and when Fate killed the ancient monster, Chimera, he got a flashback from the core of the creature. The core seemed to be Myne’s sister and before she became a Chimera she lived in a time that seemed like our modern time.
I like stories where things used to be advanced like the age we live in but something catastrophic happens and sends us back to medieval times or something. I don’t know if that will be the case here and even if it is I doubt we would find out this season. But Fate has made it to his destination and just in time because Roxy has just arrived as well and it seems her life might be in danger.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
